Deep tissue massage is a technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Deep tissue massage aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibres of the muscles, tendons and fascia. Deep tissue massage can be used to effectively treat sports injuries as well as repetitive strain issues.
Swedish massage involves a wide combination of hands on techniques often used in conjunction with hydrotherapy and remedial exercise. Concentrates on the muscles and connective tissues of the body for improved circulation, relaxation, pain relief, and overall health maintenance and well-being.
Chair massage is ideal for those who are uncomfortable lying face down on a massage table due to illness, injury or surgery. Our massage chair allows the RMT access to back, neck, shoulders and arms for treatment while the client is comfortably and ergonomically seated.
Feelings of generalized stress, anxiety and depression are at an all time high with very few outlets to manage or teach mental self care unless you are in crisis. The Liv Mohr Mindful Massage combines guided meditation with massage therapy to provide a space to disconnect and recharge while learning how to take time for yourself in day to day life.
Pregnancy is a truly miraculous and joyful experience, but can cause some unexpected strains or tensions on the body, especially in the second and third trimesters. Prenatal massage is tailored to relieve muscle cramps or spasms, myofascial pain in the hips, lower back, neck and legs, reduce stress on weight-bearing joints and help to reduce swelling by improving circulation.
Expectant mothers will be treated on their side, laying with pregnancy cushions to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for mother and child. All lotions used during the treatment are completely natural, essential oil and scent free and safe to be used during pregnancy.
Prenatal massages are limited to treatments 60 minutes or less.
Children can also benefit greatly from massage therapy. Used most commonly to address postural issues or muscle pain, massage will help to reduce stress or tension and foster a sense of well being in children and teenagers.
Massage services for children are limited to 30 minutes.
